Speaking to reporters in Madurai, Minister Nirmal Kumar said, ``At present, the secular social justice victory alliance in Tamil Nadu is actively engaged in all tasks, including the upcoming by-elections. Whether Stalin was arrested under the MISA Act or not has now emerged as the current controversy. Many say that he was not arrested under MISA. Everyone arrested under the MISA Act would have been issued a 'Detention Order' (Detention Order).

However, no evidence has yet been shown that such an order was ever issued to Stalin. They cite only some witness documents, reports published in Murasoli, or some book as evidence. A person cannot be accepted as a martyr based on a newspaper report or a book.
He may be the only martyr for whom there is no 'detention copy' for the arrest. There are allegations that all evidence for this was destroyed after coming to power in 1989.
Even in the Sarkaria Commission book translated by R. Sezhiyan, Stalin’s name does not appear. For a controversy that has existed for 30 or 40 years in this way, they have still not been able to provide clear evidence. Therefore, there is no point in repeatedly portraying him as a great martyr. People will not believe this either.
Paranthaman, who is contesting on behalf of the DMK in the by-election, did not even go near the constituency during the time he was in the Egmore constituency. They have brought someone who is not even accepted locally and fielded him as a candidate in Madurantakam.

They have fielded an outsider candidate simply because there was no one available locally to contest. If they end up losing their deposit in tomorrow’s election, they are setting the stage to say, “It was because they fielded an outsider candidate.”
Although both the DMK and the AIADMK have come forward in the style of the “Thirumangalam formula,” trying to deceive the people with sums like one hundred crore and two hundred crore, the people will make a clear decision when it comes to taking the money and voting. Even if these parties face the election using money looted from the people, the people will give them a fitting reply. Whether in the 2026 election or in this by-election, neither party will even get their deposit.
The opposition parties are protesting without even knowing why they are protesting. If they say they will stage a protest whenever their mistakes are pointed out, then let them do so freely. The public is only laughing at the way they behaved in the assembly. If a protest venue is provided, not even 50 people would gather. People are simply moving on, ignoring these protests.

At the same time, the Chief Minister’s visit is one that has been planned to attract industrial investments and promote the industrial sector. Its primary objective is to inspect facilities, including international-level Formula Racing, and to sign various agreements. After meeting each company, official announcements related to them will also be released properly," he said.
