“While some superpowers want India to emerge as a developed nation, they do not want India to emerge as a superpower,” said RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
He made this remark, pointing to the protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Speaking at the Vijayadashami festival held on Tuesday at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur, Maharashtra, he said: Protests carried out for a change in government have very rarely achieved their objective. They think that a change in government will change the condition of the country. But that is unlikely to happen.
Therefore, regime-change struggles will never resolve fundamental problems; instead, they are likely to become a tool for political gain and, rather than providing a solution, turn into a weapon for creating divisions in society.
A strong India can curb the forces that seek to turn such struggles into a target for efforts to weaken and divide the country.
However, some superpower nations that want India to emerge as a developed country do not want it to emerge as a superpower. The reason for this is their fear that India’s emergence as a superpower would pose a challenge to their dominance.
Therefore, in a democratic country, problems and protests are unavoidable. But a protest should be something that can provide a solution to the problem. It should not deepen social divisions. Political leaders, protesters, and the government administration must ensure this.
Many pieces of information that have not been verified for authenticity are being spread on platforms such as OTT. This has a serious impact on society. Therefore, the younger generation should act with discernment when absorbing information. To prevent such information from being spread, the government should also bring in appropriate regulatory procedures.
We know how many fake videos created using artificial intelligence (AI) technology are being circulated. These are being used as tools to spread misinformation. It is indeed necessary for people to learn and gain expertise in modern technologies like AI. However, we must ensure that the use of these technologies does not sideline ethical principles.
Drug addiction is emerging as a very serious national problem. The government and society must find a timely solution to this problem and take steps to rescue young people from drug addiction, he said.
Moreover, the song ‘Vande Mataram’ defeated the conspiracy to partition Bengal. Even today, it stands as an inspiration for national unity. This is our national song. There should be no hesitation or objection to singing it fully, proudly, and clearly in a loud voice,” Mohan Bhagwat said.
Speaking at this event, Yaniv Revach, an official of the Israeli Deputy Consulate in Mumbai, said, “As happened in Europe, foreign powers are trying to destabilize India and Israel. To prevent extreme leftist and Marxist forces from trying to undermine our values, it is essential for India and Israel to strengthen their identity.”
Prime Minister’s praise: Prime Minister Narendra Modi highly praised the speech delivered by Mohan Bhagwat at the Vijayadashami event and the service of the RSS organization.
“The speech delivered by Mohan Bhagwat was highly inspiring,” the Prime Minister noted in his X post. He also pointed out that the RSS organization has completed a century of service in promoting social harmony and nation-building, and conveyed his appreciation to its members.
