Chennai: RSS Tamil Nadu-Kerala in-charge P.A. Prakash has appealed to the public to bring about social change through the five transformations, including family unity and social harmony.
The Sankardas Swamigal Jayanti celebration was held at the Ramakrishna Mission School in T. Nagar, Chennai, on behalf of Samskar Bharati Movement (Chennai City). Special guests included actor Y.G. Mahendran, RSS Tamil Nadu-Kerala in-charge P. Prakash, along with Samskar Bharati Movement state president Thatchayani Ramachandran, city president Vaithiyanathan, and others. During the event, T.K.S. Kalaivanan and Bombay Gnanam were honored with awards.
At this festival, when P. B. Prakash spoke, he said, “The Samskar Bharati movement is operating from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. Samskar Bharati is working to bring together the arts of various states and thereby create social unity. Tamil Nadu is a land rich in the arts. Therefore, in order to bring about small changes in this society, everyone should implement the five important things known as ‘Pancha Parivartan’ in their own lives and in their families.
That is, we must follow family unity, social harmony, environmental protection, speaking in our mother tongue, and civic duties. First, we must make these five things a habit in our own lives. Then we must bring these practices into our families, and through that into society as well. Accordingly, if everyone works together continuously over the next 5 years, it will be possible to bring about a major social change in India,” he said.
Speaking at the festival, Y.G. Mahendran said, “Unlike in cinema, where people leave after earning money, theatre artists do not step away. Theatre artists are those who are ready to give even their lives for art. Therefore, organizations like Samskara Bharathi should continue to encourage theatre artists. For artists, along with talent, humility and simplicity are also essential.”
“If the thought arises that ‘everything has been understood, we have seen everything,’ then one cannot move on to the next stage. There must be a mindset of continuous learning. We should not forget the good ideas in our Hindu culture and Sanatana Dharma. We should set aside criticisms and controversies and talk about good things,” he said.
