Due to the northeast monsoon, the Noyyal River in Tiruppur district has swollen with floodwaters. Along with the floodwater, excessive foam is seen bubbling up. Environmental protection activists and farmers have been arguing that the foam in the Noyyal is caused by pollution from the direct discharge of chemical effluents from factories into the river. However, Tamil Nadu Environment and Climate Change Minister Rajeev has offered a new explanation, saying that even the soap and shampoo used by the public are a cause, which has sparked debate.

Regarding this, former AIADMK minister Sellur Raju was asked a question in Madurai. Responding to it, he said, ``The minister has announced a new discovery that has amazed the whole world. He should be given the Nobel Prize! A minister says that the foam in the river is caused by the soap and shampoo used by people all over the world for bathing. What kind of people do we have to see in this country!
When I was a minister, I was mocked on social media just for saying “Egypt” as “Eejipt” instead of saying Egypt. Do you know what all those young men and youths who trolled me like that would be saying about this now on Facebook? And another thing—thermocol... I did not come up with that idea myself. We used thermocol only because the officials told us to. They mocked that too and made it go viral. Now, is anyone questioning that minister? It is people like this who are ministers in the current cabinet.
Although it may seem that actors are appearing in greater numbers these days, do people see all of them that way? Can all of them be compared to M.G.R.? They are not even worth the dust at M.G.R.’s feet. M.G.R. himself has said, “Fame is like a bubble. When it rises, it looks big, and then it simply disappears.” In this country, only one revolutionary leader can emerge. No one else will be born like him, and no one else will become like him.
I would like to state that no actor, including the current Chief Minister, has done anything when poor and ordinary people were suffering.
In a democratic country, any number of actors can start a party and come to power. We have no criticism about that. But it is Vijay’s party workers who are afraid now. They are the ones worrying, “If other actors also come tomorrow with our leader’s fame, won’t people see our leader as just another actor?”
We don’t care about that at all. Whether it’s brother Dhanush, Vijay Sethupathi, Sivakarthikeyan, or anyone else who comes, let them come—it’s a good thing, isn’t it? In these six months, this government has faced a lot of criticism. They are now staging this drama of “we are arresting this person, we are arresting that person” only to hide all that criticism. This government is trying to unleash repression to conceal the criticism against it,” he said.
