Lok Sabha Opposition Leader and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi today (Oct. 6) criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, saying they have plundered the country.
He also said that if the central BJP is not opposed, they will destroy the country.
The Congress party has been continuously alleging that vote theft has taken place through the Special Intensive Revision of the voter list. Rahul has been criticizing Narendra Modi and Amit Shah for engaging in vote theft by keeping Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar under their control.
In this situation, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar should be removed from office and arrested, insisted INDIA bloc MPs, who marched with banners today (Oct. 6) from the Delhi Parliament complex toward the Election Commission of India’s headquarters.
They were stopped on Parliament Street near NITI Aayog on the way to the Election Commission. With barricades set up there, Rahul, Priyanka Gandhi and others climbed onto them and took part in the protest.
Then, they entered the All India Radio station there without permission. Congress members also entered and continued the protest by raising slogans.
At that time, Rahul Gandhi said to reporters:
''300 opposition members have been removed from here. That is why we have come here and sat down. We want to meet Gyanesh Kumar and the other Election Commissioners. Only members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have come here. We need to speak with them. Crores of people have voted for us. We need to raise some questions. But they do not want to respond.
Democracy has been completely destroyed. Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Mohan Bhagwat, and Gyanesh Kumar have together ruined trust in the vote. The people of the country have understood that Modi and Amit Shah have looted the nation. We are fighting to save the Constitution. What I ask the police is this: if you think I should be removed from here, tell me where in the country I should sit instead.
We began the march quietly. However, security forces, the CRPF, RAF, and several other forces have been deployed here in large numbers. We tried to move forward as much as we could. Detention is never a solution. Resignation is the only solution. The BJP, which is outside the INDIA alliance parties, has also joined the protest,'' he said.
