Chennai: In an order issued by the Registrar General of the Madras High Court, Deepti Arivunidhi, it has been stated that the 8 special courts in Tamil Nadu that hear cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act have been upgraded from the rank of Senior Civil Judges to District Judges. Following this, District Judges have been appointed and transferred to those 8 courts. Accordingly, Perambalur District Principal Judge Dr. L.S. Sathiyamoorthy has been appointed as the judge of the Chennai Special Court for Prevention of Corruption.
R. Vivekanandan, who served as the judge of the Coimbatore SC/ST Atrocities Special Court, has been transferred as the Coimbatore Special Judge for Prevention of Corruption; B. Shanti, judge of the Ramanathapuram Family Court, as the Tiruchi Special Judge for Prevention of Corruption; R. Joseph Joy, judge of the Madurai 3rd Additional Court for Eradication of Untouchability, as the Madurai Special Judge for Prevention of Corruption; N. Sriram, judge of the Ariyalur Women’s Court Bench, as the Viluppuram Special Judge for Prevention of Corruption; R. Thothiramery, district judge of the Salem Commercial Court, as the Salem Special Judge for Prevention of Corruption; V. Ramalingam, judge of the Sivagangai Women’s Court Bench, as the Sivagangai Special Judge for Prevention of Corruption; and S. Hema, judge of the Tirunelveli 2nd Additional Bench for Eradication of Untouchability, as the Tirunelveli Special Judge for Prevention of Corruption.
Similarly, for the POCSO special court newly established in Tenkasi, S. Manojkumar, who was serving as the Additional Sessions Judge in Tenkasi, has been appointed as the District Sessions Judge, and P. V. Wasithkumar, who served as a Sessions Judge in Thoothukudi, has been appointed to the new SC/ST court in Tenkasi. He said this.
