New Delhi: The CRPF, one of the country’s paramilitary forces, has achieved the distinction of operating for the past 12 months without any loss of life while on duty. Prime Minister Modi said that for this, my compliments to the CRPF personnel.
In this regard, Prime Minister Modi posted on his X account yesterday, “For 12 consecutive months, there has been no loss of life while on duty in the CRPF force. This is the first time in the last 47 years. This ‘zero’ tells us many things.” This post also includes a photograph with the number ‘zero,’ showing three CRPF soldiers holding rifles and facing in different directions.
A senior CRPF officer said, “CRPF personnel have achieved this milestone despite carrying out intense operations continuously in the various conflict zones where they have been deployed. In many of the country’s violence-prone areas, CRPF personnel are carrying out internal security duties. Unfortunately, there have been many fatalities in this over the past several years.
The fact that not a single soldier or officer has lost their life in the past 12 months shows that the security situation has improved and that this force has learned from its past mistakes and moved forward,” he said.
With around 325,000 personnel, the CRPF plays a key role in the country’s internal security. In particular, this force is engaged in anti-Naxal operations, anti-terror operations in Jammu and Kashmir, and counter-insurgency duties in the northeastern states.
