Mumbai: Reliance has said that it will never be afraid of competition. The American company Starlink provides satellite internet service in various countries around the world. On behalf of this company, an application has been submitted to the Central Government seeking a license to start internet service in India.
Regarding this, Starlink founder Elon Musk, in a recent post on social media, said, “Starlink has obtained licenses in 165 countries. But we have been waiting for 5 years to get a license in India. The real prime minister of that country is Mukesh Ambani. Fearing business competition, he is putting obstacles in the way of starting Starlink service in India,” he alleged.
Regarding this, Reliance Industries, led by Mukesh Ambani, said in a post released on social media yesterday: We are obliged to respond to the recent comments about Reliance and the Indian market.
We are a company founded in India. We welcome investments and innovation. We are working to improve the quality of life of people both in India and abroad.
The Indian telecommunications department operates impartially. The central government has already clarified that applications are considered in accordance with legal provisions. This applies to every applicant. There is no distinction between domestic and foreign companies. We too have been waiting for a long time to obtain the license for Jio’s satellite internet service.
We have never been afraid of competition. We entered the Indian telecom market in 2016. At that time, there was intense competition.
Over the past 10 years, we have acquired 530 million customers. Compared with countries around the world, we are providing data at the lowest price. In satellite internet service, we are ready to face healthy competition with companies including Starlink. It is stated there.
