New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is continuing talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding bringing an end to the Ukraine war, said Union External Affairs Minister Jaishankar.
The G20 summit will be held in Miami, Florida, USA, on December 14 and 15. In this context, the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting was held yesterday in Atlanta, USA. Union External Affairs Minister Jaishankar participated in it.
In an interview he gave to a private news organization, he said: The Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit was held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, last August. During this summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Russian President Vladimir Putin and held talks on bringing an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine. He also emphasized ensuring the safety of passenger and cargo ships and securing the energy supply chain.
Last September, during the BRICS summit held in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin also met and spoke. Even then, Prime Minister Modi held talks on finding a peaceful solution to the war in Ukraine. Last August, I went to Moscow, the Russian capital. Even then, I held consultations with that country’s foreign minister regarding ending the war in Ukraine.
No problem can be solved by military means. Only through peace talks can a peaceful solution be reached. On behalf of India, talks were held with the leaders of Ukraine and European countries regarding ending the Russia-Ukraine war. At present, wars are taking place in various parts of the world.
The G20 grouping must stop these wars. Unhindered cargo shipping in the Black Sea region must be ensured. Only then can food and energy supplies be secured. He said this.
