Erode: Minister for Handlooms Vijayabalan said that Co-optex has been instructed to procure additional fabric from primary weavers’ cooperative societies in order to clear the stock of cloth accumulated in the Sennimalai area.

At the Vasantham Co-optex sales outlet on Gandhiji Road in Erode, Minister Vijayabalaji inaugurated a 30 percent discount sale ahead of Deepavali. Erode District Collector Kandhasamy presided. MLAs Anandh Mohan and Shanmugan were present.

The Minister told reporters after the event: In order to enable the public to buy clothes at lower prices, instructions have been issued to increase the sale of powerloom fabrics and to Co-optex sales outlets.

To clear the stock of fabrics that has accumulated in Chennimalai, Co-optex management has been instructed to procure additional fabrics from primary weavers’ cooperative societies.

After the TVK government was formed in Tamil Nadu, 10 new Co-optex sales outlets have been opened in Tamil Nadu. This year, new linen fabrics and raw silk sarees will be introduced in Co-optex sales outlets.

In the Karur textile park, more than 1,000 types of home-use textile products are being produced for export. He said this.
