Leaders of the India alliance parties marched to the Supreme Court today (Oct. 12) and submitted a petition demanding the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner.
The petition also alleges irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list and calls for a proper inquiry into Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, followed by his removal from office.
India alliance leaders, who met President Droupadi Murmu last Friday, raised the allegation of ‘vote theft.’ They also expressed their concerns regarding the special intensive revision of the voters’ list.
Following this, leaders and MPs of the India alliance parties had planned to march to the Supreme Court today, meet the Chief Justice, and file a complaint.
Accordingly, leaders of the INDIA alliance parties marched toward the Supreme Court today (Oct. 12).
The march included leaders from the INDIA alliance such as Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, K.C. Venugopal, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav, Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Raut, as well as representatives from organizations such as the All India Students’ Association leader Neha Bora.

The march reached the Supreme Court
After a short while, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Neha Bora, and others continued the march after breaking through police barricades.
India alliance party MPs also continued the march. Later, around 7 p.m., Rahul Gandhi and others reached the Supreme Court and submitted a petition at the complaint submission area within the Supreme Court परिसर.
Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Akhilesh Yadav, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, Sanjay Raut, D. Raja, Supriya Sule, and 11 others have joined as petitioners.
The petition states that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has independently carried out SIR proceedings despite strong objections from the two Election Commissioners.

The petition seeks the Supreme Court’s urgent intervention against the filing of cases over SIR protest demonstrations and the arrest of lawyers and journalists.
