Carpenter bee Janata Party leaders have been arrested for staging a protest in violation of the ban at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar and for allegedly trying to obstruct the police from carrying out their duties.
The issue of India’s Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar having caused irregularities in various matters of the Election Commission, including S.I.R., has created a major stir across the country.
CJP members have been leading a protest with the demand that the Election Commissioner resign. Meanwhile, the BJP government removed Delhi’s Jantar Mantar from the list of protest venues and imposed a ban on protests there.

On Tuesday morning last week, CJP leaders who trespassed into the Jantar Mantar area in Delhi through private property raised slogans demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Fourteen people, including Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranga, and Ajinkya Shinde, were taken into preventive custody on the charge of obstructing the work of security personnel who stopped them from trying to cross the police barricades set up there.
Following this, the arrested individuals were produced before the Special Executive Magistrate Court on Mandi Marg in Delhi at around 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Since they had already signed a peace bond and had again violated the rules, the court ordered that Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranga be remanded to judicial custody for 5 days.
Ajinkya Shinde was released after paying a bond of Rs. 5,000.
CJP founder Abhijit Dipke has strongly condemned this arrest action. “Ashu and Saurav have been sent to five days of judicial custody. What was their mistake? It was only that they hoisted the national flag at Jantar Mantar. If you have a little courage, show it, Prime Minister Modi. If you are so determined to suppress dissenting views, instead of hiding behind such cowardly tactics, show the courage to officially declare an Emergency,” he said.
DMK leader Stalin, on his X page, said, “How many protesters can this government arrest and lock away? How many young voices can the BJP suppress? The more young people they imprison, the more ordinary people who are not aligned with any politics will come out onto the streets and show them the true strength of people power!
We firmly express our support for Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranga! DMK is in a ready position to provide them with all necessary legal assistance and support,” he said, expressing his support.
