People are staging massive protests across France, condemning issues such as rising prices and a poor education environment. During these protests, riots and looting in shops have occurred in various places, and French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed his strong condemnation. In his address to the nation, he said, ``The violent incidents that have taken place across the country have caused great anger and shame among the public. So far, more than 1,800 people involved in violence have been arrested.

"Those who have plundered public property must pay compensation for it. Those who have tried to disrupt the peace of the country will be brought before the law and will certainly be punished. These acts of violence have erupted only because of the instigation of far-left organizations and the criminals who colluded with them. I have instructed the authorities to work with mayors in the coming weeks to protect public buildings and commercial establishments, and, if necessary, to impose a ban on protests," he said.
During this protest, the famous 19th-century City Hall building in the city of Limoges in central France was set on fire by protesters. Its roof collapsed, and the building was severely damaged. Hundreds of shops have been looted in major cities such as Paris, Marseille, Lyon, and Bordeaux. According to government estimates, about 550,000 people, and according to organizers, 800,000 people, took part in this protest.

There was widespread tension as thousands of protesters gathered again in the Place de la République area in the capital, Paris. Police fired tear gas to disperse the crowd.
Paris Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez said, ``The right to protest is a fundamental right of every citizen. But deliberate disruption of peace through violence cannot be accepted."
On Paris’s main streets, shop windows have been smashed and stones are scattered everywhere.
Only in the Paris region, 855 people have been arrested. The base of the statue of 'Marianne' (Marianne), France’s national symbol, has also been damaged by protesters.
Seeing this terrible state of the city, many senior citizens have expressed their anguish in tears. With violent individuals having broken in, the public has expressed concern that a peaceful protest, started for legitimate demands, has now lost its purpose.

In the run-up to next year’s presidential election, this incident has stirred up a major storm in French politics. Far-right leader Marine Le Pen has criticized Macron’s centrist government, saying it has completely become dysfunctional and is merely watching helplessly without being able to control the situation. Meanwhile, far-left leader Jean-Luc Mélenchon has said that the prime minister’s misguided approach is what has brought young people and trade unions together, but that those engaging in violence have nothing to do with their struggle.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump posted on his 'Truth Social' platform, "France is burning! Close the borders and bring it under control immediately." However, French officials and the police have made it clear that left-wing groups and violent individuals are responsible for this violence.
