Earlier, one Indian was injured in a drone attack carried out on Tuesday at the Shaybah oil field owned by Aramco, Saudi Arabia’s largest oil company. Several others were also injured. In the attack carried out the following day, one Indian was killed and two others were injured.
Who carried out this attack? The Saudi government has not released full information on whether the attack was carried out by drone or by missile.
A civil war has been ongoing for years in Yemen between the Houthi terrorist group, which controls areas including the capital Sana'a, and government-backed forces. In this war, the Saudi Arabian government supports the government-backed forces. Following this, Iran-backed Houthis have been carrying out repeated attacks on airports, oil fields, and other targets in Saudi Arabia.
Therefore, it is suspected that they may also be responsible for the attack on Dammam airport.
Due to this attack, air traffic at Dammam Airport was suspended for a few hours. Later, air traffic resumed.
About 2.5 crore Indians live in Saudi Arabia. In this situation, the attacks being carried out on Saudi Arabia have caused concern among the Indians there.
