Three more people have been arrested for allegedly aiding Veeramani in the POCSO case.
In the POCSO case accusing him of sexually assaulting minor girls, Gem Granite founder Veeramani has been arrested and is being interrogated. Several more girls continue to file complaints against him.
DGP Maheshkumar Agarwal has appointed a special investigation team to probe this case, which has caused a stir across the state.
The special investigation team has issued a report stating that three more people have been arrested on charges of aiding Veeramani in this case.
In this regard, the report released by the Special Investigation Team stated, “Based on the video recorded in the pen drive received by the Chennai Metropolitan Police Anti-vice Squad, which showed that gem granite industrialist Veeramani had engaged in a sexual offense with a minor girl in the bedroom of Shanti and Mahendra Simhan’s house, it was found that Veeramani had committed a sexual offense, and a case was registered by the Chennai Metropolitan Central Crime Branch, Anti-vice Squad.
In this connection, Gem Granite industrialist Veeramani and his accomplices Shanti and Mahendra Simhan were arrested, and Ganesh was also arrested for failing to inform the police about the possession of another video in this case showing Veeramani behaving obscenely with the minor. The above four were then lodged in prison.
On the orders of the Director General of Police / Head of Force, Tamil Nadu, a Special Investigation Team has been formed to investigate the above POCSO cases, and intensive investigation is under way.
Already, four cases are pending against Gem Veeramani, and one more case was registered on 02.10.2026 and is under investigation.
In the investigation conducted into the above five cases, for the offense of bringing minor girls and aiding Gem Granite industrialist Veeramani in his sexual harassment, Gem Granite Veeramani’s drivers 1. Lazar, 2. Parthiban, and 3. Babu were identified and arrested today (05.10.2026).
In the above five cases, the drivers who were complicit in the sexual harassment offense committed by Gem Granite industrialist Veeramani—one named Lazar had been working for 23 years, one named Babu for 8 years, and one named Parthiban as well.
Regarding Gem Veeramani’s aiding and abetting of criminal acts, searches were conducted at their homes, and 8 mobile phones and 55 documents were seized.
It has been stated that intensive investigation in this case is continuing.”
