Whom did I ask for a commission from? Is there any proof of that? I did not speak to any contractors at all. Then how can they say that I asked for a 20% commission? I am a woman of clean hands. We are people who grew up looking up to our leader, Thalapathy Vijay. Our leader is providing good governance. Why such hostility toward a woman? If there is any issue, confront me face to face.
I am heartbroken by baseless accusations. DMK members are deliberately blaming me. I cannot express my suffering to others; it is painful.
Have you issued an indirect order that the tender is only for your party members?
Now everything is open tender. All procedures are being carried out transparently online. For the past two years, our party people have not taken up any work at all. Shouldn’t our party members be allowed to take up small jobs and carry them out through a fair process? DMK and AIADMK contractors who have grown fat on contracts for 20–30 years are unable to tolerate this and are spreading blame. Before spreading such slander against a woman, think and act carefully.
TTV Dhinakaran has criticized you, hasn’t he?
TTV Dhinakaran is a party leader. He should have inquired locally, found out the truth, and then issued his statement. It is a big deal for a woman to enter politics. Before criticizing a woman, think carefully. God is there. Don’t speak falsely about anything.
Did the party leadership ask you for an explanation?
Our party leadership knows very well about us. The leadership has not asked anything about this baseless slander.
If there is no basis for it, are you saying that slander is being deliberately spread against you?
This is the work of Sivaganga DMK members. They are unable to take on the TVK directly. They do not like my growth. I have a good reputation in the town. Thinking about what to do to tarnish it, they are fabricating a story out of thin air. Why has no one making these accusations provided any evidence? Even before this, at a municipal council meeting, I had casually sat on a chair. Immediately, they stirred up controversy by saying I had sat in the commissioner’s chair as an MLA. They are spreading such slander purely out of malice.
