In Trichy’s Mannarpuram area, Trichy MP Durai Vaiko inaugurated a new bus stop. At that time, speaking to reporters, he said,
"The railway overbridge works near Trichy Main Guard Gate are progressing slowly. There are also some issues in the railway department. There are problems in the corporation as well. I have requested that those be resolved and the bridge work be completed quickly. We are going to hold a meeting with all concerned parties regarding this. Music composer Deva gave recognition to gaana songs. His death is a huge loss to the Tamil film industry. I express my deepest condolences on behalf of the MDMK over his passing. During the time when DMK leader M.K. Stalin was Chief Minister, various irregularities took place across India through SIR."

But that did not happen in Tamil Nadu. The reason for that is that the DMK did not allow that irregularity to take place. In this situation, they are spreading the idea that SIR is the reason for the DMK’s defeat. The DMK should first accept defeat. Great leader Kamarajar, Communist senior leader Nallakannu, and others have lost elections. Likewise, the DMK has also lost. They should accept that. Saying that we lost only because of SIR is against democracy. It is against the people’s verdict.
It is a wrong approach to belittle Vijay’s victory. In the by-elections in Madurantakam and Dharapuram, DMK members claim that they contested without an alliance and received 30 percent of the votes. But the parties led by Premalatha Vijayakanth, Eswaran, Jawahirullah, and Tamimun Ansari are in the DMK alliance. They campaigned in the election. Because of them, DMK got an additional 15,000 votes. Otherwise, DMK would not have even secured its deposit in the by-election. Even though they lost this election, they are deceiving the people by saying that they won. Just as we were deceived in the DMK alliance, the parties currently in the alliance should not be deceived. Even if DMK did not give money to the people, they spent more than Rs. 100 crore in both constituencies for good and bad purposes. But without spending a single rupee, TVK has won the by-election. Our party leadership and alliance party leader Vijay will decide whether MDMK will contest the by-elections in the remaining 5 Assembly constituencies," he said.
