Puducherry: “If the Modi regime is to be brought to an end, Gyanesh Kumar must resign,” said former Puducherry Chief Minister Narayanasamy.
In protest against the Chief Election Commissioner of India, Gyanesh Kumar, and condemning the arrest of INDIA alliance MPs, including Rahul Gandhi, who staged a protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, as well as the BJP-led central government, the Puducherry Congress party held a demonstration this evening, marching toward the post office.
Former Chief Minister Narayanasamy, former Minister Shajahan, former MLA Vaidyanathan, and others participated under the leadership of State President Vaithilingam MP. Congress workers gathered at the Rangapillai Street-Gingee Road junction and staged a protest. At that time, they brought in a person dressed as Gnanesh Kumar with handcuffs on.
They then tried to move toward the post office from there. The police stopped them by setting up barricades. Even so, some people climbed onto the barricades and expressed their opposition. As a result, there was a scuffle between the police and those taking part in the protest.
At the same time, MP Vaithilingam, former Chief Minister Narayanasamy, and others came to the post office and staged a dharna in front of it. Later, State President Vaithilingam told reporters: The Central Government has issued an order to provide the highest level of security to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. From this itself, it is clear that he is afraid; not only that, he is in such a state that he cannot even come out.
Because of the crimes he committed. We strongly condemn him. The people are angry with Gyanesh Kumar. He should be called a vote thief who is robbing the votes of the younger generation. Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are complicit in that theft. An investigation into all three of them should be started immediately. They should be removed from office. he said.
Former Chief Minister Narayanasamy said, “The power granted by Ambedkar has been misused by Gyanesh Kumar, who, by joining hands with the RSS movement in support of Modi and Amit Shah, has deliberately conspired to remove young people from the voter list in order to bring them to power. There is evidence for this.
The BJP is defending them. If Gyanesh Kumar is caught, Modi and Amit Shah will go to jail. Since the RSS movement will be completely rejected by the people, they are protecting him. This is a conspiracy.”
Our struggle will continue until Gyanesh Kumar, who deceives the people, buries democracy in a pit, and acts without respecting the Constitution of India, resigns from office. At present, Prime Minister Modi is celebrating his 25th year in politics.
He should look back. The development this country saw during the times of Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, and Narasimha Rao has now been concealed under Modi’s rule. Modi’s achievement is handing over all public sector enterprises to Adani and Ambani.
If this kind of Modi regime is to be brought to an end, Gyanesh Kumar must resign. After snatching away the voting rights of the people and, instead of following democratic norms, secretly buying MLAs to form a government, the Prime Minister boasts that we are in power in 18 states.
Breaking parties and buying MPs is Modi’s biggest achievement. In this country, 250 million people are unemployed. The Prime Minister must answer for this. Across India, protests are taking place demanding that Gyanesh Kumar resign. Therefore, our protest will not subside until Gyanesh Kumar, the Prime Minister, and Home Minister Amit Shah resign, and until the ballot paper system is brought in,” he said.
