AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami alleged that under the TVK government, the prices of food items have risen by 40 percent over the past four months.

The Communist Party members who stood by and helped bring about a TVK government are now saying that the TVK government is not good. The Communist parties are contesting the by-election only to oppose TVK. The TVK government is an unstable government that could collapse at any time.
Rs. 4.50 crore has been spent on setting up barricades for the Chief Minister, who came to release water from the Mettur dam. The total cost of building the dam itself was only Rs. 4.50 crore. In the current situation, if water is fully released for Delta irrigation, there will be a drinking water shortage. Therefore, we must fight legally and secure the rightful share of water from Karnataka. In Tamil Nadu’s history, no party has ever won continuously.
TVK has won only 108 seats and formed the government with the support of other parties. This should not be forgotten when speaking about it. Under TVK rule, the people have not received any benefit of any kind. They bought AIADMK MLAs through horse-trading, made them resign, and then announced them as candidates. He said AIADMK’s victory in the by-election is certain.
