Famous Bollywood actor Nana Patekar passed away today (Oct. 8) due to ill health. He was 75 years old.
It is said that actor Nana Patekar, who was found unconscious at his home in Goa after losing consciousness, was immediately taken to the nearby Manipal Hospital for medical treatment. However, doctors have announced that he died on the way to the hospital.
Famous actor Nana Patekar (75), who made a distinct mark in the Hindi and Marathi film worlds, passed away early Thursday morning. Reports say that while he was at his home in Goa, he suddenly suffered a severe heart attack and was then taken in an unconscious state to a nearby hospital.
Regarding this, Shekhar Salkar, head and oncologist at Manipal Hospital, said, “Despite being given life-saving CPR continuously for 45 minutes, he could not be saved. As his condition did not cooperate with treatment, he passed away at around 5:20 a.m. Medical-legal procedures are being carried out regarding the circumstances of his death, and a postmortem will be conducted.”
More than 40 years of film career
Nana Patekar, whose birth name is Vishwanath Patekar, was born in Maharashtra on January 1, 1951. He made his debut in the film industry with the 1978 film ‘Gaman’.
After that, he played a variety of roles in Hindi and Marathi films, drawing the attention of audiences with his natural acting, powerful dialogue delivery, and distinctive choice of characters.
The characters he portrayed in many films, including ‘Parinda’, ‘Krantiveer’, ‘Agni Sakshi’, ‘Kamoshi: The Musical’, ‘Ab Tak Chhappan’, ‘Apaharan’, ‘Welcome’, and ‘Natsamrat’, were widely appreciated by audiences.
