Anti-corruption officials conducted a raid at the Tiruchi residence of former DMK minister K.N. Nehru. In this situation, K.N. Nehru met reporters after the anti-corruption department’s raid. Speaking then, he said,
"Nothing was found in the raid this time either. However, they searched more places this time than last time. They have taken away my brother Manivannan’s two laptops, which he keeps for business purposes. This raid may have been conducted to divert attention from law and order lapses, the escape of prisoners from the Theni jail, and similar issues. On this, what our party leader said is correct. I do not think this raid was centered on the Tiruchy East by-election. It is not that if we are there, the DMK will win, and if we are not, it will lose. It is the people who will decide and make us win. Our job is to do what our party leader says without disobeying him. I alone am not the DMK. We have lakhs of cadres. Even if I am not there, our cadres will work and make the DMK win the election."

Already, former minister Anbil Mahesh has been arrested. Today, they came to search my house. They are doing this to divert attention. During the DMK regime, the Enforcement Directorate conducted a search at a place belonging to us. Following that, they instructed the government to file a case. After the DMK regime ended, now in the TVK regime, they are filing a case and conducting a search. This is only against me. In the Anbil Mahesh case, a case has only just been filed. They did not ask me any questions. They searched my house. Just as the DMK faced searches, arrests, and the like during the Jayalalithaa regime, we will face this regime in the same way.

Jayalalithaa filed land-grabbing cases against all the ministers. We fought them in court and won. Likewise, we will approach the court. The High Court has dismissed the review petition we filed seeking dismissal of the case registered by the Anti-Corruption Department. In this regard, we have filed an appeal in the Supreme Court. As far as the DMK is concerned, we do not worry about victory or defeat. In the by-election in Dharapuram, we moved from third place to second place. Similarly, in Madurantakam too, we have come to second place. The ruling party’s margin of victory has decreased. When we face elections, we face them with confidence. Let anyone from the film industry come into politics. The DMK will always endure. Those who oppose the DMK may change. But the DMK will always stand firm. You are asking whether there will be arrests after the investigation continues. No answer can be given to speculation," he said.
