A government primary school is functioning in Manur village near Palani in Dindigul district.
More than 50 students are studying here. After the school reopened following the quarterly vacation, the drinking water pipe in the school was found damaged.
Following this, when the school teachers inspected the drinking water tank in the school, they found human feces floating in it.
Subsequently, the water in the drinking water tank was drained and the tank was thoroughly cleaned. However, it is said that the school headmaster did not file a complaint either at the police station or with the School Education Department regarding this.

In this situation, it was discovered that feces had been mixed into the drinking water tank, and villagers along with the parents of school students have been staging a protest.
PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss has condemned this incident. In a post he released on the matter, he said, "Reports that human waste was mixed into the drinking water tank at a government primary school in Manur village near Palani in Dindigul district, and that this incident was covered up for two days, after which the students’ parents and local residents staged a protest condemning it, are shocking. Such an inhuman and disgusting act is condemnable.
When the school reopened on Monday after the quarterly vacation, this cruelty came to light while school staff were engaged in arrangements for preparing food. The school administration immediately cleaned the water tank, and to allay parents’ fears and concerns that children who eat food cooked with the water from that tank might suffer health problems, education department officials having breakfast with the students this morning was reassuring.

At the same time, why was this incident concealed and covered up without being made public? An investigation should be conducted into whether there is any conspiracy behind this incident. Who is responsible for this? They should be identified and arrested.
The fact that there is no compound wall around Manor Primary School, and that there are no adequate security facilities, is what enables antisocial elements to enter at night and carry out such acts. To prevent this, compound walls should be built in all government schools across Tamil Nadu, including Manor School. The drinking water tank at Manor Government Primary School should be replaced," he said in condemnation.
