Last Monday (October 12), India alliance leaders marched in Delhi toward the Supreme Court with a petition demanding action over irregularities in the voter list and calling for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign.
Arrogance of power
In this march, BJP supporters have been sharing a video on social media showing Rahul Gandhi as if he were grabbing Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar by the collar and pushing him away.
Regarding this video, BJP supporters have been protesting Rahul Gandhi’s action, saying, “If inherited... if the arrogance of power passed down through generations had a face, it would surely look exactly like this.”
The video being shared by BJP supporters:
If arrogance of inherited privilege, passed down generations, had a face, it would look like this. From Rajiv Gandhi unceremoniously announcing Veerendra Patil’s removal as Karnataka CM at an airport to Rahul Gandhi pulling @DKShivakumar by his kurta in the middle of a road, the Congress dynasty’s sense of entitlement remains unchanged. Politics aside, @CMofKarnataka D.K. Shivakumar represents Karnataka. Such public humiliation is an insult to the dignity of 7 crore Kannadigas. Rahul Gandhi holds no executive office or constitutional authority over Karnataka’s elected leadership, yet his conduct raises questions about the deference expected towards the Congress high command.

D.K. Shivakumar explanation
D.K. Shivakumar has explained about this video on his X page.
In that post, “Our struggle is for democracy. Not for distractions.
Yesterday’s protest saw a vast sea of people come together against vote theft and to protect our democracy.
Rahul Gandhi, keeping my safety in mind, advised me to return to the vehicle carefully.
Here, 'this' is the primary thing
It is a bond rooted in mutual trust, love, and a sense of family.
A 10-second video will not tell the whole story. Let us not divert attention from the real issue.
“Vote theft and the struggle being carried out to protect every Indian’s right to vote are the primary issues here,” said D.K. Shivakumar
Our Fight Is for Democracy, Not Distractions Yesterday’s protest witnessed a sea of people united in the fight against Vote Chori and in defence of our democracy. Shri @RahulGandhi , out of concern for my safety, advised me to return to the vehicle and be cautious. That is the bond we share — one rooted in trust, affection and family. A 10-second video cannot tell the whole story. Let us not lose sight of the real issue: Vote Chori and the fight to safeguard every Indian’s right to vote.
