Chennai: Former minister Sekarbabu, who spoke at the protest held yesterday in Chennai on behalf of the DMK, had sharply criticized Chief Minister Vijay and Minister Nirmalkumar. Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Minister Ramesh has condemned this.
Regarding this, he said in a post on his X page: “There is nothing else in Tamil Nadu except the DMK, a party that acts as though obscenity, slander, low-level speech, and threats are the only political weapons.
In particular, someone who once served as the Minister for the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, which serves the divine, continues to openly reveal his political standards through actions such as forgetting the dignity of that office and the minimum civility required in public life, speaking in a vulgar and lowly manner as the words come to his mouth, insulting members of the opposition, and even threatening the public.
The position of minister is not a post for displaying power. It is shameful for someone who once held that responsibility to behave today like a third-rate political speaker. No one can intimidate us into submission. We will never fear slander or threats. No matter how low someone speaks, it is not our political culture to stoop lower in response.
Our leader did not raise us like that. So, choose your words carefully. Otherwise, they themselves will create a situation in which they have to be answered in the same political language they started with. That is what it says. Ministers Keerthana and Vinod have also condemned Sekarbabu’s speech.
