Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay arrived today (November 2) to take part in events including inaugurating the newly built bus stand in Pudukkottai, opening the indoor stadium, and distributing various welfare assistance on behalf of the government to the people.
To participate in this event, he departed from Chennai in a special flight in the morning, and was warmly welcomed in person at Tiruchi airport by Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Minister Ramesh, Labour Welfare and Skill Development Minister Mohamed Parvesh, Rural Development and Water Resources Minister N. Anand, Deputy Speaker Ravishankar, and former ministers C. Vijayabaskar and M.R. Vijayabaskar, among others.

After accepting the welcome, he departed from Tiruchi airport by road and traveled by car for about 55 km toward Pudukkottai. Along the route, large numbers of people gathered on the roadside to greet the Chief Minister. In particular, in areas such as Mandaiyur, Keeranur, and Narthamalai, crowds of people gathered and gave him an enthusiastic welcome.
His fans and the public along the way, overwhelmed with excitement, rushed toward the Chief Minister’s vehicle to shake hands. It posed a major challenge for the police personnel on security duty to manage them and keep the vehicle moving smoothly.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, who visited Pudukkottai, first took part in a government function held at the District Collector’s office and inaugurated various welfare schemes needed by the public.
Following this, an unexpected and touching moment unfolded when he arrived for the inauguration of the newly built Pudukkottai new bus stand, constructed at a cost of Rs. 24 crore with modern facilities.

Usually, at inauguration ceremonies for such government projects, it is VIPs or ministers who cut the ribbon; but, in contrast, Chief Minister Vijay invited government bus driver and conductor, representatives of the common people and the working class, to stand close by.
The Chief Minister called the bus driver and conductor, held their hands, and cut the ribbon to inaugurate the new bus station. In a gesture of honoring the hard work of the working class, the Chief Minister himself gave priority to the driver and conductor and had them cut the ribbon, a move that moved the members of the public and onlookers who had gathered for the ceremony.
Following this, Chief Minister Vijay officially unveiled the inauguration plaque and then inspected and reviewed the structure and plans of the new bus station along with senior officials nearby.
During this event, Minister Mohamed Parvez, District Collector Aruna, senior government officials, local representatives, and a large number of the public were present.
