Tirunelveli: “Drug sales are taking place in Tamil Nadu through the contacts of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. Chief Minister Vijay is acting like a puppet,” said former Speaker M. Appavu.
Former Speaker M. Appavu submitted a petition to District Collector Anand Mohan, urging the immediate completion of the combined drinking water project works brought in during the previous DMK regime to resolve the drinking water problem in the areas under the Tirunelveli, Radhapuram, and Nanguneri Assembly constituencies.
Then, speaking to reporters, he said: “During the previous DMK regime, a plan was introduced to carry water from the Thamirabarani River to the Kalakkad and Radhapuram areas in Tirunelveli district through a combined drinking water scheme.
At present, that project has been put on hold. The project should be implemented immediately and drinking water should be supplied to the public without interruption. A petition has been submitted to the District Collector urging that the pending works be completed quickly.
After the DMK had been continuously opposing the purchase of electricity at a high price, that plan has now been abandoned. The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam government has taken this action by yielding to the DMK’s opposition.
At a time when various problems are being discussed in electricity procurement, the fact that the electricity department and the prison department are under the same minister raises suspicion as to whether prisoners are being deliberately allowed to escape.
Artificial power cuts are being created with the aim of handing over the electricity department to Adani. The installation of smart meters is also being carried out only with the intention of generating profits for Adani and Ambani companies.
The power shortage is being artificially created. The Electricity Minister will remain in office until the electricity department is handed over to Adani. Until then, prison escape incidents will also continue.
Among those close to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, the majority are from Andhra Pradesh. The prices of Aavin products are being increased to sell dairy products from Andhra Pradesh. Reports related to law and order in Tamil Nadu do not reach the Chief Minister.
All the information that reaches him goes only to the Reddy group and the ministers. The circulation of drugs, including ganja and methamphetamine, has increased in Tamil Nadu. The Chief Minister is acting like a puppet.
Drug sales in Tamil Nadu are taking place through contacts of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam members. Even after the Kerala Home Minister directly met the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and urged him to prevent drugs from coming into Kerala from Tamil Nadu, the Tamil Nadu government failed to take action.
The Chief Minister is in a position where he works for one day and rests for two days. Even though capable police officers have been appointed, the government has not properly utilized them.
“I welcome the Tamil Nadu government's ban on transporting minerals to Kerala and other neighboring states as an interim measure to prevent the plunder of mineral resources in Tamil Nadu,” he said.
