Tanjavur: A video has surfaced showing Rs. 5 crore changing hands in connection with a private hospital dispute, sparking controversy.
At the private hospital on Thanjavur Number 1 Vallam Road, R.M. Bhaskaran was the managing director, Saravanan was the director, and Jayashree Ramasamy was a shareholder. In a dispute that arose between the shareholder and the managing director, both sides filed complaints at the Thanjavur Medical College police station. Based on these complaints, the police registered a case and have been investigating.
In this situation, following the instructions of a senior police officer, talks were held between both sides at his house in the presence of Thanjavur Crime Branch Inspector Sukumaran.
In it, it is said that the hospital management had agreed to pay Rs. 24 crore to partner Jayasree, and that Saravanan’s side had brought Rs. 5 crore as the first installment. At that time, both sides recorded it on their mobile phones as a video.
In this situation, it appears that the Jayasree side again pressured Saravanan, saying that the money taken from Sugumaran’s house to be given to Jayasree had not reached them on time.
Following Saravanan’s complaint to the Tamil Nadu DGP about this, the case was transferred to the CBCID. Later, CBCID police arrested Thanjavur Crime Branch Inspector Sugumaran on Oct. 9, alleging that he had received Rs. 5 crore. The Madurai Bench of the High Court, which heard the case the day before yesterday, said Sugumaran’s arrest was illegal and ordered his release.
In this situation, a video showing bundles of cash at Sukumaran’s house during the negotiations was released on social media yesterday. This has once again created a stir in this case.
