“India will never tolerate terrorism; if terrorists dare to harm India, a fitting response will be given,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said firmly.
Referring to the Indian Army’s precision strike carried out in Pakistan in retaliation for the Uri terrorist attack on Sept. 18, 2016, in which 19 Indian soldiers were killed, the Prime Minister said this.
He also said that this precision strike reflected India’s renewed resolve against terrorism.
Prime Minister Modi addresses the nation every month on the last Sunday through the radio program Mann Ki Baat (Voice of the Heart).

10 years ago, the whole world was astonished to see the attack launched by Indian soldiers after crossing the Line of Control. A new precedent was set for India’s firm policy against terrorism.
Our country endured the pain of terrorism for a long time; but over the past 10 years, from the Balakot airstrike to Operation Sindoor, Bharat has repeatedly conveyed the strong message that terrorists will face a severe retaliatory response.
In the past, serial bomb blasts in the country were seen as commonplace. On Sept. 13, 2008, many innocent people were killed in the serial blasts in Delhi. A few weeks after this happened, on Nov. 26, a major attack was carried out in Mumbai.
Even in the past, demands were strongly raised that strict action should be taken against Pakistan for terrorist attacks. But they were ignored. However, today’s India follows the policy that it will never tolerate terrorism.
It has been 25 years since the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center buildings in the United States on Sept. 11, 2001. In these attacks, after Americans, Indians suffered the highest number of deaths.
Drug Awareness: A movement to create a drug-free India is currently underway. Under this campaign, young people have taken on the responsibility of staying away from drug use themselves and creating awareness among others as well.
In this campaign, which will continue for up to 100 weeks, volunteers of the ‘My India’ movement, National Service Scheme members, school and college students, youth, and others are involved. Social and spiritual organizations have also joined in. In the past few days, thousands of pledge meetings and awareness programs have been held across the country.
Our youth have taken forward the campaign through their creativity on social media. “Let us jointly advance the commitment to a drug-free youth for a developed India,” he said.
In his address, Prime Minister Modi paid tribute on the birth anniversary of the late former working president of the Vishva Hindu Parishad, Ashok Singhal (Sept. 27). Highlighting his contribution to the Ayodhya Ram temple movement, the Prime Minister praised him as someone who dedicated his entire life to the nation.
Noting that Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary is celebrated on Oct. 2, he called on young people to take part in cleanliness drives.
Praise for the Tamil Nadu professor: ‘Our bond with the past remains alive to this day. A. Selvaraj, who is associated with the Tamil department of a college in Manapparai, Tamil Nadu, received information about some ancient statues from a student during a discussion.
Following this, he planned a field study. In that study, several statues and an ancient temple were discovered by him in various places. This is an interesting effort to connect with the past. Such efforts should be undertaken in other parts of the country as well,’ said Prime Minister Modi.
People’s national duty: ‘The first phase of the census work has been completed in nearly all states and union territories in the country. Information from more than 32 crore families has been recorded. Participating in the census is the national duty of all the people of the country. The facility for self-registering census details is very simple.
Details can be entered through a mobile phone. This facility is available in 16 languages, including Hindi. By logging into the census portal through a mobile phone, one can fill in and submit location and family information.
This entire process will take only about 15 to 20 minutes. No documents need to be uploaded. After submitting the information, a special identification code will be received.
When the census worker comes to the house, this code can be provided. After verifying the information, it will be recorded in the census. So far, more than 26 million people have completed self-registration through mobile phones alone,” said the Prime Minister.
