New Delhi: Following actor Tiger Shroff, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Kangana Ranaut, and Akshay Kumar are also on the target list of the Dada Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Mumbai Police sources have revealed in a shocking report.
According to Mumbai Police sources, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang had initially targeted Salman Khan. However, after that attack plan failed, the attackers were instructed to look for another, easier target.
They were instructed to immediately target any vulnerable star in Bollywood. Following this, members of Lawrence’s gang, who claimed they had come to Mumbai for sightseeing, kept watch on the homes of celebrities such as Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Kangana Ranaut, and Akshay Kumar.
Only after that was actor Tiger Shroff targeted. At that time, information that Tiger Shroff came to the Juhu area every Sunday to play football was obtained through an auto-rickshaw driver.
After that, Juhu ground was surveilled on October 11, and finally an attack was carried out on actor Tiger Shroff on October 18. Those arrested in the Shroff case had come to Mumbai about 20 days earlier. They had monitored him while disguised as ordinary fans.
Pretending to be sightseeing around Mumbai and taking photos outside celebrities’ homes, they moved around in various areas. For this, they used auto-rickshaws and bike services.
Police sources say that during this period, they also surveilled the homes of Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, and Akshay Kumar.
To prevent such a situation from arising, the Mumbai Police had already provided special security to major Bollywood celebrities. The Mumbai Police has been providing general security to many film industry celebrities.
A state-level committee periodically assesses the security risk level of film industry celebrities. Based on that, the police have the authority to increase, reduce, or withdraw their security.
In this, Salman Khan has been provided 'Y Plus' category security. An 11- to 12-member team from the Mumbai Police is always with him. This includes four armed commandos and a special police officer skilled in handling modern weapons.
Following threats to Salman from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, the Maharashtra government provided him this security in November 2022. After Baba Siddique's assassination, this security was further strengthened in October 2024.
Shah Rukh Khan was also provided Y-plus category security in October 2023. He received death threats over the song 'Besharam Rang' from his blockbuster film 'Pathaan'.
The central government provided Y-plus category security to Kangana Ranaut in September 2020. Her remarks comparing Mumbai to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir triggered strong reactions from the Maharashtra government and Shiv Sena leaders.
Following this, Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut warned him not to return to Mumbai from Himachal Pradesh. Amitabh Bachchan has government 'X' category security. This includes two security personnel who work in rotation. One of them is a personal security officer.
Like Amitabh, actor Akshay Kumar also has 'X' category security. Based on threat assessments, each person is provided with dedicated security either through the local police or through private security.
It is also said that most actors are bearing the costs of this security. Behind this, it appears that Lawrence is planning to keep Bollywood under his control, much like underworld don Dawood Ibrahim once did.
