At Coimbatore airport, PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss spoke to reporters. Speaking then, he said, “The by-election that has just concluded was conducted democratically. In the past, we have seen by-elections turn into ‘weight-for-weight’ elections, where parties won by giving money and liquor in exchange for votes. Unlike that, in the current election the ruling party has won. At the same time, the AIADMK, which won in both constituencies in the last general election, has now been pushed to third place. These two victories have added extra strength to the ruling party. The AIADMK, which ruled Tamil Nadu for the longest period in independent India, should introspect. I am not saying this to criticize them; I am saying it with good intentions.”
There are various issues in Tamil Nadu, including the NEET exam, the Cauvery water dispute, and natural disasters. A consultative meeting should be held under the Chief Minister’s leadership regarding the challenges Tamil Nadu may face in the next four months. At present, only 30 TMC of water remains in the Mettur dam. There continues to be difficulty in the Karnataka government providing the required water. Since rice prices have also risen in Tamil Nadu, the Tamil Nadu government should take appropriate action. The problems of nurses, government employees, and teachers must be resolved. Fifteen thousand people should be selected through the Group 4 examination. In the matter related to the Election Commissioner, a proper investigation should be conducted, and if any wrongdoing has occurred, action should be taken.

Investigations should be conducted into the alleged corruption that took place in Tamil Nadu in the past, and the assets of those who committed wrongdoing should be confiscated. The government must take stringent action to prevent the plunder of mineral resources, and a CBI inquiry should be conducted into this matter. Since the new government of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam lacks administrative experience, and since officials already in service are continuing to function, administrative issues must be resolved,” he said.
When asked why the PMK, despite being in the AIADMK alliance, stayed away from campaigning in the by-election, he said, “I cannot respond to social media comments.” To the question of whether the PMK continues in the AIADMK alliance, he replied, “At present, the PMK is in the National Democratic Alliance.” When asked whether there is a possibility of the PMK joining the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam alliance, he said, “All such information is rumor. We have not asked for ministerial posts, and we will not ask for them either.” To the question of whether another consultation meeting with office-bearers will be held regarding the alliance ahead of the parliamentary election, he responded, “Anything can happen in politics.”
