Chennai VIT professors’ new-age startup has received praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi after showcasing devices invented using artificial intelligence (AI) technology in the medical field.
On Oct. 11, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Chennai Poonamallee–Vadapalani metro corridor. During the event, while traveling on the metro train, he met with the startup entrepreneurs.
A press release issued by Chennai VIT’s startup company regarding this meeting said:
MedX AI Innovations Private Limited, the startup company of Chennai VIT, is developing new innovations in the medical field.
In particular, the Tamil Nadu Technology Hub (IDNT Hub), created jointly by the Central and State governments and industry organizations to promote deep-tech technologies, encouraged MedX AI Innovations, a startup company from VIT Chennai. Following this, VIT’s innovations were sent to the Software Technology Parks of India in Delhi and to the Prime Minister’s Office. After this, VIT’s MedX AI was selected to be presented to the Prime Minister.
Accordingly, Sheena C. Pravin, CEO of MedX AI and a professor at VIT, presented and explained these inventions to Prime Minister Modi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay.
Sheena C. Pravin introduced two major technology products to the Prime Minister: CerviLens, an AI-based tool for early cervical cancer screening, and Quantum PharmX, an AI-based computer-driven drug discovery platform.
Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Joseph Vijay praised the company’s products. “In the coming years, AI’s contribution in the medical field will be significant. Such innovations will form the basis for that. Continue researching these,” the Prime Minister urged Professor Sheena Pravin.
Metx AI Innovations expressed its gratitude to VIT founder G. Viswanathan and Vice President G.V. Selvam for their continued support and encouragement in carrying out such research.
