Chennai: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, political leaders including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay and DMK president M.K. Stalin paid tribute.
In a post on his X page, Chief Minister Vijay said, “On the birth anniversary of missile man and former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who inspired India’s scientific progress and the dreams of students and youth, and served as a guiding light for their journey toward their goals, I remember, honor, and pay tribute to the invaluable service he rendered to the nation.
Although he held various distinguished positions such as ISRO scientist, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, and President of the Republic, he regarded the identity of “teacher” as the crown of his life, and devoted his life to the progress of students until his last breath. The simplicity, integrity, and scientific thinking of that great man are forever worthy of praise.
“Let us, on this day, resolve to build a prosperous and strong India by keeping Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s lofty thoughts and far-sighted vision in our minds,” he said.
DMK leader M.K. Stalin: “I pay my tribute to Bharat Ratna Abdul Kalam, who was born into very humble circumstances and rose to become the President of India through the education he acquired and the dreams he envisioned, on his birthday.
Abdul Kalam was the one who said with deep conviction that poverty is India’s enemy. Not only did he say so, but he also dreamed that this enemy could be defeated through science and technology.
In our Dravidian model government, we honored Abdul Kalam by installing a statue for him on the Anna University campus and by presenting an award in his name every year. As Abdul Kalam wished, I urge on this day that the youth take a pledge to build a developed India where opportunities and resources are equally available to all sections,” he has said.
PMK leader Anbumani: “As the 95th birth anniversary of A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the former President of the Republic of India and a hero who can be admired not only by today’s youth but also by future generations, is being celebrated today, I bow to him with joy.
“To create the developed India he dreamed of, let us all the people of India take a pledge on his birthday to work hard according to the plan he laid out,” he said.
AMMK General Secretary TTV Dhinakaran: “Today is the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who sowed in the hearts of young people the noble idea of ‘Dream; work hard to make that dream come true,’ and who, through his intellect, hard work, and perseverance, made a tremendous contribution to the growth of India’s space and defense sectors, and who adorned the nation’s highest office, the President of India.”
“Let us honor and pay tribute to the great work of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who demonstrated through his life that knowledge, discipline, hard work, and honesty are the steps to success, and who devoted his entire life to the scientific progress of India and the advancement of young people,” he has posted.
Similarly, many other political party leaders are also posting their tributes.
