Instagram celebrity Veeramani, who asked his Instagram followers for sweets and ended up having a bitter experience, had become a front-page news story in leading newspapers, beyond social media.
Veeramani, an Instagram celebrity from Madurai, had recently collected donations from his followers to travel to Kerala and returned after enjoying a successful trip.
After tasting it once, Veeramani had released a video asking for sweets for the next Diwali, along with his address. Since he asked so affectionately, many people who wanted to play a prank on him began placing orders to his home address using the cash-on-delivery method, paying for whatever items they saw and having them delivered.
Regardless of the day, date, or time, orders for food items kept pouring in on Swiggy and Zomato. When he denied placing the orders, the food delivery workers who came to deliver the food reportedly got into an argument with him.
That was not all; items worth several lakhs, including TVs and smartphones, were delivered to his house. The door kept being knocked on. His phone kept receiving calls from food delivery workers.
His followers took it to the next level and used his number to post ads on matrimonial websites and for things like “willing to donate a kidney,” leaving Veeramani stunned.
Whether it is true has not been confirmed, but memes also claimed that even a JCB and army cannons had been ordered to his house. He posted a video pleading, “Stop placing orders, I only asked for one sweet,” but no one seems to be letting up.
Finally, she was pushed to the point of having to vacate her home because of the delivery workers coming to the house. As she kept releasing videos, wailing in a Parasakthi Sivaji style, “I ran... I ran...,” her followers were enjoying watching it.

Her outcry became a major news item in the country’s leading newspapers. She had also released a video about that. She said she could not even step outside and that her parents were severely scolding her, and she appealed for it to stop there.
After that, he had posted photos created using AI, making it look as though he was in Rajasthan. Finally, he has shared a photo. Seeing his situation, the e-commerce company Instamart, which thought it could give him a happy ending, has given him the sweet he actually asked for and some electronic gift items as a Diwali gift, free of charge. Similarly, a company from Kerala has also put an end to his troubles by giving him that one sweet he asked for, along with many gift items.
Veeramani has released photos about this and posted them with a happy ending to his ordeal. Meanwhile, the Kerala police had issued a report about the posting of his address and mobile phone number, and had also raised public awareness, advising people to be careful about their personal safety.
Was asking for a sweet a crime? His situation had become such that it was as if he were saying, “Boss?” It has now been wrapped up with a “subham” ending.
