Chennai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Chennai tomorrow (Oct. 11).
As part of the Chennai Metro Rail Phase 2 project, he will inaugurate the completed 14.64 km service from Poonamallee to Vadapalani. Later, he will travel together with Chief Minister Vijay in the metro rail from Poonamallee to Porur.
He also meets and interacts with the founders of more than 10 leading start-up companies operating at IIT. Later, the Prime Minister inaugurates the `Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja Music Learning and Research Centre'. He dedicates several national highway projects to the nation and lays the foundation stone for new projects.
Under the ‘Amrit Bharat’ scheme, in Southern Railway, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate projects worth Rs. 700 crore, including the upgraded Palani, Paramakudi, Namakkal, Ambasamudram, and Vellore Cantonment railway stations, 3 railway overbridges in the Coimbatore region, and a new 23-km railway line between Karaikal and Peralam.
Not only that, he will also take part in a ‘road show’ from the airport to the Parangimalai military ground, and from near the Saidapet court to Anna University.
As the Prime Minister visits Chennai, 15,000 police personnel will be deployed for security duty. In addition, five-tier security arrangements have been made. For security reasons, on the 11th, the areas of Meenambakkam, Guindy, Kotturpuram, Porur, and Nandambakkam, as well as the routes the Prime Minister will travel, have been declared red zones.
In addition, the flying of drone cameras and unmanned aerial vehicles has also been banned in these areas. All areas that the Prime Minister will visit have been brought under a police surveillance ring. Not only that, police are also checking people staying in lodges, guest houses, and hotels, as well as conducting intensive vehicle checks on major roads.
