Chengalpattu: At the 14th batch training completion parade ceremony for trainee Deputy Superintendents of Police held at the Tamil Nadu Police Academy, Chief Minister Vijay honored those who excelled in training by presenting trophies and medals.
In a press release issued by the Tamil Nadu government regarding this, “The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister today (7.10.2026) took part in the 14th batch training completion parade ceremony for trainee Deputy Superintendents of Police held at the Tamil Nadu Police Academy in Unamancheri, Chengalpattu district, and honored those who excelled in training by presenting trophies and medals.
At the Tamil Nadu Police Higher Training Academy, a total of 25 officers, including 11 women and 14 men selected for the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police, underwent one year of basic training.
In this 52-week training program, which included both indoor and outdoor training, comprehensive instruction was provided by experienced experts from the respective fields on a wide range of subjects, including the legal knowledge required for trainee Deputy Superintendents of Police, investigative techniques, the structure and administration of the State Police, its enhanced capabilities, internal security, intelligence, community policing, leadership qualities, communication skills, law enforcement skills, cybercrime, implementation of CCTNS (Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems), and the use of modern technology in policing.
Furthermore, these trainee officers underwent 10 days of forest training with the Tamil Nadu Special Task Force (STF), along with training in trekking, swimming, martial arts, yoga, handling firearms, and driving vehicles. In addition, by being deployed in security duties during events such as New Year celebrations, Jallikattu, and the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly general elections, these trainees were also provided with practical field experience.
Following this, at the ceremony held today at the Tamil Nadu Police Academy, Chief Minister Vijay accepted the passing-out parade salute of the trainee Deputy Superintendents of Police and presented the sword of honor, the Chief Minister’s trophy, and the gold medal to D. Aneesh Pradeep, who excelled overall in training, the silver medal to O. Karthika, and the bronze medal to P.S. Divya, and also honored those who excelled in other categories by presenting trophies and medals.
Earlier, in the presence of the Director General of Police and the Head of the Police Force, the Deputy Superintendents of Police who completed their training and are going out for field duty took an oath that they would carry out their duties with a sense of fairness, without any fear or favor toward any section of the people.
It has been stated that the event was attended by Legislative Assembly Speaker J.C.D. Prabhakar, Minister for Human Resource Management Sarathkumar, Minister for Finance, Planning and Development Mary Wilson, Minister for Artificial Intelligence, Information Technology and Digital Services R. Kumar, Government Chief Whip Sabarinathan, Members of the Legislative Assembly, Chief Secretary Dr. M. Sai Kumar, and others.
