Chennai: Amid the ongoing internal strife in the AIADMK, former minister C. Vijayabaskar has strongly criticized AIADMK general secretary Edappadi Palaniswami, calling him “a leadership that sees hardworking, genuine cadres as enemies.”
After the 2026 Assembly election, the internal conflict in the AIADMK intensified. That is, two factions emerged, one led by Edappadi Palaniswami and the other by C.V. Shanmugam. Following this, some MLAs from the AIADMK resigned from their posts and joined the TVK party, dealing a major setback to the AIADMK.
In this context, there were rumors that C. Vijayabaskar would also join the TVK. Putting an end to these speculations, his post has brought to light the simmering tensions within the party.
Regarding this, in a post published on his X page, C. Vijayabaskar said, “A leadership that sees hardworking, sincere cadres as enemies, and a politics that treats asking questions itself as a crime, is ‘not the path to victory.’
