The continuous deadlock in the DMK's constituency-sharing negotiations with the Communist parties persists. Mutharasan met the Chief Minister and made representations. After that, the DMK leadership proposed to give 5 constituencies instead of 4. The communists said it was okay if Balan's home constituency was not given, but they wanted the 6 constituencies they had won last time.
