India's leading pharmaceutical company, Sun Pharma, filed a complaint with the Puducherry CB-CID stating that their medicines were being counterfeited. Based on this, CB-CID police conducted raids in the industrial areas of Mettupalayam and Thirubuvanai in Puducherry. During the raids, it was discovered that two pharmaceutical factories, Ravikumar Industries and Larvan Pharma, were manufacturing counterfeit medicines without proper authorization. The Drug Control Department sealed 13 pharmaceutical factories that were operating without proper authorization. It was revealed that some political leaders and police officials were complicit with the criminals in this case, prompting the Deputy Governor Kailashnathan to order the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) consisting of 10 members. இந்தியாவின் முன்னணி மருந்து தயாரிப்பு நிறுவனமான `சன் ஃபார்மா’, தங்களுடைய மருந்துகள் போலியாக உற்பத்தி செய்யப்படுகின்றன என்று புதுச்சேரி சி.பி.சி.ஐ.டியில் புகாரளித்தது.
அதனடிப்படையில் புதுச்சேரி மேட்டுப்பாளையம் மற்றும் திருபுவனைப் பாளையம் தொழிற்பேட்டைகளில் சி.பி.சி.ஐ.டி போலீஸார் ஆய்வு செய்தனர். அப்போது ரவிக்குமார் இண்டஸ்ட்ரீஸ் மற்றும் லார்வன் ஃபார்மா என்ற இரண்டு மருந்து தொழிற்சாலைகளும், உரிய அனுமதி பெறாமல் போலி மருந்துகளை தயாரித்து வந்தது தெரிய வந்தது.
அவற்றை உடைத்து சோதனை செய்த போது பல கோடி ரூபாய் மதிப்புள்ள போலி உயிர் காக்கும் மருந்துகளும், தயாரிப்பு இயந்திரங்களும் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டது.
அதையடுத்து போலியாகவும், உரிய அனுமதி பெறாமலும் இயங்கி வந்த 13 மருந்து தொழிற்சாலைகளுக்கு சீல் வைத்தது மருந்துக் கட்டுப்பாட்டுத் துறை.
இதற்கிடையில் போலி மருந்து தொழிற்சாலைகளை நடத்திய முக்கிய குற்றவாளியான மதுரை ராஜாவை கைது செய்தனர் சி.பி.சி.ஐ.டி போலீஸார்.
இந்த விவகாரத்தில் ஒருசில அரசியல் தலைவர்களும், காவல்துறை அதிகாரிகளும் குற்றவாளிகளுக்கு உடந்தையாக இருப்பது தெரிய வந்ததால், 10 பேர் கொண்ட சிறப்பு புலனாய்வுக் குழுவை அமைத்து (SIT – Special Investigation Team) அமைக்க உத்தரவிட்டார் துணைநிலை ஆளுநர் கைலாஷ்நாதன். அதனடிப்படையில் எஸ்.பி நல்லாம் பாபு அவர்களின் தலைமையில் எஸ்.ஐ.டி அமைக்கப்பட்டது.
அதேவேகத்தில் விசாரணையில் இறங்கிய சிறப்பு புலனாய்வுக் குழு, ஆளும் கட்சி எதிர்க்கட்சி என எந்தவித பாகுபாடுமின்றி அடுத்தடுத்து குற்றவாளிகளைக் கைது செய்து வருகிறது.
அந்த வகையில் முன்னாள் ஐ.எஃப்.எஸ் அதிகாரியும், பா.ஜ.கவின் தீவிர ஆதரவாளருமான சத்தியமூர்த்தி என்பவரையும், ஜி.எஸ்.டி கண்காணிப்பாளர் ஃபரிதா என்பவரையும் அதிரடியாக கைது செய்திருக்கிறது.
ஓசூரில் பதுங்கியிருந்த அவரை கைது செய்த சிறப்பு புலனாய்வுக் குழுவினர், அவரிடம் தீவிர விசாரணையை மேற்கொண்டு வருகின்றனர். இந்த வழக்கில் முதல்வர் ரங்கசாமியின் தீவிர ஆதரவாளரான அரியாங்குப்பம் மணிகண்டன் உட்பட 21 பேர் கைது செய்யப்பட்டிருக்கின்றனர்.
