After the legislative assembly election in West Bengal, a BJP-led government has taken office. Since the BJP government came to power, incidents of attacks on Trinamool Congress functionaries have increased. Commenting on this, BJP minister Indranil Khan said, "These angry expressions from the people are a reflection of the torture they have long endured at the hands of Trinamool Congress leaders. It is only because of their faith in Prime Minister Modi's slogan that fear should disappear and hope should be born that people are now coming forward to voice their grievances."
Problem for the Trinamool Congress office
The Trinamool Congress headquarters office in Kolkata has also run into trouble. The building in which the office is functioning had been rented by the Trinamool Congress. The rental agreement expired last year. However, the Trinamool Congress has continued to occupy the premises without vacating it. Therefore, the owner of the property has filed a complaint with the police, asking for help in getting the property back.
