Does Chief Minister Vijay have no confidence in the parties that supported the TVK? DMK president M.K. Stalin has asked.

Speaking at a meeting of the DMK women’s wing and cadre wing held at Anna Arivalayam in Chennai, DMK president M.K. Stalin said,
"Now that we are in the opposition, if we want to become the ruling party again, we must work even more actively and faster.
"Can this government run as if there were no criticism for even six months?" I said this in some events I had already attended. Immediately, our opponents twisted it against the truth and began crying out, asking, "Is this a conspiracy to overthrow the government?"
I have already said this many times. Once again, I want to say it clearly in this meeting. The DMK will firmly carry out its duty as a responsible, vigilant opposition party. We will continue to point out the failures of this government; we will ask questions. Whenever the next election is held, the people themselves will remove this government.
Generally, when everyone goes shopping, what do they buy? They buy clothes. They buy things needed for the home. But do you know what our Chief Minister is doing now? He is shopping for AIADMK MLAs. What we are wondering is this: does he himself have no confidence in his government, or does he have no confidence in the other parties that have given him support? First, to save his government, he got AIADMK MLAs to vote in support of the TVK. Now, after getting them to resign, he has joined them to his own party in the very next moment.
When you see news like this, what does it remind you of? The Chief Minister Vijay is doing here what the BJP does in other states. In other words, he is functioning like a Xerox copy of the BJP. All the parties that gave him support when he asked for help are now, when asked about this, struggling in embarrassment.
In a party, only one person among many gets the chance to be a candidate. So many workers toil, and the alliance parties also work for their victory. After winning through the efforts of so many people, before the ink on the finger from voting has even faded, they resign and then support another party. Should democratic forces not rightly question this? Within just one month, MLAs resign and join T.V.K.—shouldn’t people ask what kind of offer T.V.K. must have given them for that to happen? This government is an ugly regime that turns democracy into a mockery.
The Chief Minister is the one who keeps saying on stage, “Be confident,” but is he himself confident in the first place? That is why he is stealing even the members of those whom he called a spent force. Just look at how dried up he must be, if he is stealing from a spent force itself. When you see what is happening—sexual violence, machete attacks, petrol bombings—how can anyone refrain from criticizing? We can give time to fulfill promises; but how can we stay silent about the safety of the public?” he said.
