The Mullaperiyar Dam is located on the Tamil Nadu-Kerala state border. Following a Supreme Court order, last year the Mullaperiyar Dam was brought under the control of the National Dam Safety Authority. On September 11th, officials from the National Dam Safety Authority conducted an inspection of the dam. Subsequently, the deputy monitoring team inspected the Mullaperiyar Dam yesterday. For this purpose, the deputy team was led by Krithar, the South Zone Director of the National Dam Safety Authority, along with Tamil Nadu members including Sam Irwin, the monitoring engineer of the Mullaperiyar Dam, and operations engineer Selvam, as well as Kerala members including monitoring engineer Goshi and construction engineer Livinsbabu. They came to Thekkady and from there went to the dam by boats. In the Mullaperiyar dam area, they inspected the main dam, operated the gates, and conducted tests. Then they walked through the main dam to the baby dam and conducted an inspection. They checked the seepage water level in the tunnel section. முல்லை பெரியாறு அணையில் துணை கண்காணிப்புக் குழு ஆய்வு
தமிழக-கேரள மாநில எல்லையில் முல்லைப்பெரியாறு அணை அமைந்துள்ளது. உச்ச நீதிமன்ற உத்தரவுப்படி கடந்த ஆண்டு முல்லை பெரியாறு அணை, தேசிய அணைகள் பாதுகாப்பு ஆணையத்தின் கட்டுப்பாட்டின் கீழ் கொண்டு வரப்பட்டது. கடந்த செப்டம்பர் மாதம் 11-ந்தேதி அணையில் தேசிய அணைகள் பாதுகாப்பு ஆணையத்தினர் ஆய்வு செய்தனர். அதன் தொடர்ச்சியாக முல்லைப்பெரியாறு அணையில் துணை கண்காணிப்பு குழுவினர் நேற்று ஆய்வு செய்தனர்.
இதற்காக துணைக் குழுவின் தலைவரான தேசிய அணைகள் பாதுகாப்பு ஆணையத்தின் தென்மண்டல இயக்குநர் கிரிதர் தலைமையில், தமிழக உறுப்பினர்களான முல்லைப்பெரியாறு அணையின் கண்காணிப்புப் பொறியாளர் சாம் இர்வின், செயற்பொறியாளர் செல்வம், கேரள உறுப்பினர்களான கண்காணிப்புப் பொறியாளர் கோஷி. கட்டப்பனை செயற்பொறியாளர் லிவின்ஸ்பாபு ஆகியோர் தேக்கடிக்கு வந்து அங்கிருந்து படகுகள் மூலம் அணைக்குச் சென்றனர்.
அணைப் பகுதியில், பிரதான அணையை அவர்கள் பார்வையிட்டு ஆய்வு செய்த மதகுகளை இயக்கி சோதனை செய்தனர். பின்னர் பிரதான அணை வழியாக பேபி அணைக்கு நடந்து சென்று ஆய்வு செய்தனர். சுரங்கப்பகுதியில் கசிவுநீர் அளவை பார்வையிட்டனர். அணையின் நீர்மட்டத்துக்கு ஏற்ப அது இயல்பான அளவில் இருந்தது.
