English Senior DMK minister K.N. Nehru has been accused of corruption involving up to 1,020 crore rupees in the municipal administration and water supply department. 2024 ஆம் ஆண்டின் தொடக்கத்தில் நடைபெற்ற 2,538 பணி நியமனத்தில் தலா ரூ.35 லட்சம் என மொத்தம் ரூ.888 கோடி லஞ்சம் பெறப்பட்டுள்ளதாக நகராட்சி நிர்வாகத் துறை அமைச்சர் கே.என்.நேருவின் சகோதரர் ரவிச்சந்திரனுக்கு சொந்தமான `ட்ரூ வேல்யூ ஹோம்ஸ்’ நிறுவனத்தின் வங்கி மோசடி வழக்கில் அமலாக்கத் துறை நடத்திய ரெய்டின் போது இது தெரியவந்தாகக் குற்றம்சாட்டப்பட்டிருந்தது.
இதற்கு அமைச்சர் கே.என். நேரு, “2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 மற்றும் 2017 ஆகிய ஆண்டுகளில் பல்வேறு பதவிகளுக்கு இதே அண்ணா பல்கலைக்கழகம் மூலமாகத் தான் தேர்வுகள் நடத்தப்பட்டு, இந்தப் பணியிடங்கள் நிரப்பப்பட்டன. அதே அண்ணா பல்கலைக்கழகம் மூலமாகத்தான் இந்த பணிநியமமும் இப்போது நடந்திருக்கிறது” என்று விளக்கமளித்து தன் மீதான குற்றச்சாட்டை மறுத்திருந்தார்.
இப்போது மீண்டும் நகராட்சி நிர்வாகம் மற்றும் குடிநீர் வழங்கல் துறையின் டெண்டர்கள் மற்றும் ஒப்பந்தங்களில் 1,020 கோடி ரூபாய் வரை ஊழல் நடந்ததாக அமலாக்கத்துறை குற்றம்சாட்டி, தேர்தல் நெருங்கும் சமயத்தில் தீவிரமாக கே.என்.நேரு விவகாரத்தில் இறங்கியிருக்கிறது.
