Meanwhile, in several states, students who were under stress due to fears of a NEET retest and due to irregularities in the NEET examination died by suicide.
Regarding this, Karappanpoochi party leader Abhijeet Deepke has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The letter states:
With a heavy heart, I am writing this letter today to bring to your attention an increasingly serious issue that poses a threat to the lives and mental health of our young students.
Due to the irregularities in the NEET exam, 11 students have died by suicide in just the past few weeks. In particular, 5 people died by suicide in the last 48 hours alone.
Many of these students had been preparing for the NEET exam by taking education loans and spending their families’ lifetime savings. Therefore, each affected family should be given compensation of Rs. 1 crore.
We have been protesting in various parts of the country, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Abhijeet Deepke noted that we want someone to take responsibility for these student deaths.

நமது இளம் மாணவர்களின் உயிருக்கும் மனநலத்திற்கும் அச்சுறுத்தலாக விளங்கும், தீவிரமடைந்து வரும் ஒரு விவகாரத்தை உங்கள் கவனத்துக்குக் கொண்டுவரும் நோக்கில், கனத்த இதயத்துடன் இன்று இந்தக் கடிதத்தை எழுதுகிறேன்.
நீட் தேர்வு குளறுபடிகளால் கடந்த சில வாரங்களில் மட்டும் 11 மாணவர்கள் தற்கொலை செய்துகொண்டனர். அதிலும் குறிப்பாக கடந்த 48 மணி நேரங்களில் 5 பேர் தற்கொலை செய்துகொண்டனர்.
இவர்களில் பல மணவர்கள் கல்விக்கடன் பெற்றும், அவர்களுடைய குடும்பங்களில் வாழ்நாள் சேமிப்பை செலவு செய்தும் நீட் தேர்வுக்குத் தயாராகி வந்தனர். எனவே, பாதிக்கப்பட்ட ஒவ்வொரு குடும்பத்துக்கும் தலா ரூ. 1 கோடி இழப்பீடு வழங்க வேண்டும்.
