Rotterdam: India pulled off a stunning victory in the FIH Pro Hockey League by defeating world champions Germany 3-1.

The European leg of the Pro Hockey League matches is being held in Rotterdam, Netherlands. In the match played on Wednesday night, Germany and India faced off.

From the very beginning, the Indian players dominated the game, so Germany’s attempts to score did not bear fruit. With possession under India’s control, Mandeep Singh scored brilliantly in the 7th minute. In the 13th minute, Shilanand Lakra deceived the German goalkeeper and scored with a superb strike.

In the second quarter, the German players changed their strategy and tried to score. But India’s defense was strong.

Uruguay player Chiara scored in the 13th minute as soon as the match began. Later, after the Indian team played well, Deepika Sehrawat scored in the 24th minute and Deepika Sorang in the 43rd minute. In the second half, Uruguay player Manuela Villar scored the equalizer, making it 2-2. Deepika Sehrawat scored her second goal in the 56th minute to help India win 3-2. With this, India topped Group A with 9 points.

Semi-final clash with Chile: India will face Chile in the semi-final to be held on the 20th.
