The two-day training session for legislators has begun today at the Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai. Chief Minister Vijay inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp. In the 2026 election, 146 people have been elected as first-time MLAs. This training session was organized to create awareness among them about legislative procedures. At the event, secretaries from the Finance, Law, and Legislative Affairs departments are explaining the rules and conventions of the Assembly to the MLAs.
The Speaker had announced that not only the new MLAs but all MLAs could participate in this meeting.
In this situation, the TVK MLAs and ministers fully participated in the training meeting that began today. Likewise, on behalf of the VCK, Minister Vanni Arasu, Minister Shajahan from the IUML, and Minister Melur Viswanathan from the Congress were among those who took part.
Similarly, Soumya Anbumani on behalf of the PMK, which is in alliance with the AIADMK, and Bojarajan on behalf of the BJP also participated in the meeting.
No MLAs from the DMK attended the meeting. Representatives from the DMK ally MDMK and the Kongu Makkal Desiya Katchi also took part in the meeting.
Even the faction of the AIADMK that voted in support of the TVK government in the Assembly did not attend the meeting. However, only AIADMK MLA Rakesh, who won in Sankarapuram, came to the meeting as the sole AIADMK representative.
The Communist MLAs also skipped this meeting.
