The horrific incident in Gummidipoondi, where a 3-year-old child was sexually assaulted and killed, has caused shock.
In the Gummidipoondi SIPCOT area yesterday (June 14) evening, parents were shocked when their 3-year-old child went missing, and they searched the area with the help of the public.
At that time, people who spotted the child with injuries in a thorn bush rescued the child and took them to the Gummidipoondi Government Hospital.
The child, who had been subjected to sexual assault and was admitted to Stanley Government Hospital for further treatment, died despite treatment. Many political leaders have been speaking out against this.
In this situation, the Tiruvallur district police have issued a statement regarding the incident.
In the statement issued by the police, "Information was received that a girl had been sexually assaulted in an area under the jurisdiction of the SIPCOT Police Station in Gummidipoondi Sub-Division, Tiruvallur District. A case was immediately registered in this regard, and during the investigation, the accused person was arrested.
Investigation has revealed that only one person was involved in this incident. Both the accused and the affected minor girl are from the state of Bihar.
Further investigation into this matter is underway. The public is requested to refrain from spreading unverified information and false news related to this incident through any media," it has been stated.
