BJP state president Nainar Nagendran has urged that the TVK government should not compromise on the number of physical education teachers.
Regarding this, on his X page, reports that the current TVK government is also proposing the same government order issued by the previous DMK government—to change the ratio in government schools from 1 physical education teacher for about 250 students to 1 teacher for 700 students, with the aim of crippling the sporting abilities of government school students—are deeply shocking.
The government’s intention to reduce the number of physical education teachers who accurately assess the sports abilities of government school students, who cannot afford to pay high fees and train with private coaches, and ensure their participation in competitions, is blatant oppression.
Because of this misguided approach by the TVK government, how serious a violation of rights is it that even the shadow of a physical education teacher may never fall on some rural schools with fewer than 700 students? Is this the inclusive politics of TVK?
I urge Chief Minister Vijay to ensure that the government does not compromise on the number of physical education teachers, who play a key role in monitoring students’ discipline in educational institutions, and that the appointment of physical education teachers should continue as per the old practice. தவெக அரசின் இந்த தவறான அணுகுமுறையால், 700 மாணவர்களுக்கு கீழ் இருக்கும் சில கிராமப்புற பள்ளிகளின் மீது உடற்கல்வி ஆசிரியரின் நிழல் கூட படாமல் போய்விடும் என்பது எவ்வளவு பெரிய உரிமை மீறல்? இதுதான் தவெகவின் அனைவருக்குமான அரசியலா?
கல்விக் கூடங்களில் மாணவர்களின் ஒழுக்கத்தை கண்காணிப்பதில் முக்கியப் பங்கு வகிக்கும் உடற்கல்வி ஆசிரியர்களின் எண்ணிக்கையில் அரசு சமரசம் செய்யக்கூடாது எனவும், பழைய நடைமுறையின் படியே உடற்கல்வி ஆசிரியர்களின் நியமனம் தொடர வேண்டும் எனவும் முதல்வர் விஜய்யை வலியுறுத்துகிறேன். இவ்வாறு குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.
