The counseling for student admissions to government arts and science colleges in Tamil Nadu is being held from June 5 to 17. Accordingly, counseling for the general category has begun today.
Admissions to the 159 courses offered in 181 government arts and science colleges in Tamil Nadu are being conducted for both morning and evening sessions based on the marks students obtained in Class 12. It has been announced that counseling will be held college-wise from today until June 18.
On June 5, the counseling for students with disabilities, sports quota students, students from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, children of ex-servicemen, children of security force personnel, and NCC students was completed.
Today, counseling for the general category has begun and will continue until the 18th.
The merit list of students has been published on the website of each college. Details including the counseling date and time have been sent to the mobile numbers and email addresses of the students listed.
At the time of counseling, applicants are instructed to bring the application form submitted online, transfer certificate (original - with EMIS number), mark sheets (originals of 10, Plus 1, Plus 2), community certificate (original), income certificate, certificates for special categories, 4 passport-size photographs, Aadhaar card, and a copy of the first page of the bank passbook.
The admission fee to be paid is Rs. 2,905 for Arts, Rs. 2,925 for Science, and Rs. 2,025 for Computer Science. This may vary from college to college. It has also been stated that four copies of all the above certificates should be brought.
The second phase of counseling will be held from June 15 to 17.
A text message about the counseling date is being sent to the registered mobile numbers. Therefore, students are requested to regularly check the text messages received on the cellphone number provided in the application. Only students who receive the text message will be allowed to attend the counseling on the respective date.
