While the single judge has been issuing various orders in this case, the district administration and the temple administration filed an appeal seeking to cancel the orders issued against them.
In this situation, these petitions came up for hearing before the bench of judges Sathishkumar and Jothi Raman. At that time, the government side requested time, saying it needed to consult officials in the case related to lighting a lamp atop Thiruparankundram hill. Intervening then, the judges asked, 'What is the difficulty in implementing the order that a lamp must be lit atop Thiruparankundram hill during Karthigai Deepam?'
The judges, saying, "This will not affect anyone," stated, "Respect the sentiments of people from all sides. Do not escalate this case by citing legal procedures," and granted time to the government to state its position on lighting the lamp atop Thiruparankundram hill, adjourning the hearing to the 22nd.

‘இதனால் யாருக்கும் பாதிப்பு இல்லை’ எனக் கூறிய நீதிபதிகள், ‘அனைத்து தரப்பு மக்களின் உணர்வுகளுக்கும் மதிப்பு கொடுக்க வேண்டும். சட்ட நடைமுறைகளைக் காரணம் காட்டி இந்த வழக்கை தீவிரப்படுத்தாதீர்கள்’ எனக் கூறி, திருப்பரங்குன்றம் மலை உச்சியில் தீபம் ஏற்றுவது குறித்த அரசின் நிலைப்பாட்டை தெரிவிக்க கால அவகாசம் வழங்கி வழக்கு விசாரணையை வரும் 22 ஆம் தேதிக்கு ஒத்திவைத்தனர்.
