Thirumavalavan has said, "Even if you call it Periyar's land, it is not so easy to become a Dalit Chief Minister in Tamil Nadu." Speaking to reporters in Chennai, VCK leader Thirumavalavan said, "No one has officially spoken to me about the DMK-AIADMK alliance. However, I had mentioned in an interview that there were many whispers about it in various places. Neither DMK's Stalin nor AIADMK's Edappadi Palaniswami or any other leaders have discussed this with me. When I received information about this, I said that speaking like this is wrong. We are still in alliance with the DMK. Therefore, we can meet the DMK leader whenever we want. We have only supported them to form the government."
We supported because two MLAs should not be unable to form a government, the President's rule should not be imposed, and another election should not be called again. We supported to prevent accusations that the government could not be formed due to the VCK not supporting. We have already stated that we will provide unconditional support from outside and will not participate in the cabinet. Some leaders of our party are still talking about having a place in the cabinet. However, everyone will abide by the decision I have taken as the party leader. Even though Thirumavalavan calls it social justice land and Periyar land, Tamil Nadu is still a state that has not yet freed itself from caste oppression.
It is not so easy to become a Dalit leader here. I have been in politics for 40 years, and I know what the reality on the ground is. So, I will not live in fantasy just because someone said so.

தவெக ஆட்சியமைக்க மட்டுமே நாங்கள் ஆதரவளித்திருக்கிறோம். இரு எம்எல்ஏ-க்களால் ஆட்சியமைக்க முடியாமல் போய்விடக் கூடாது, குடியரசுத் தலைவர் ஆட்சி வந்துவிடக் கூடாது, மறுபடியும் ஒரு தேர்தல் வந்துவிடக் கூடாது என்பதால் நாங்கள் ஆதரவளித்தோம்.
விசிக ஆதரவு அளிக்காததால் தவெக-வால் ஆட்சியமைக்க முடியாமல் போய்விட்டது என்ற குற்றச்சாட்டு எழுந்துவிடக் கூடாது என்பதற்காகவே ஆதரவளித்தோம். வெளியில் இருந்து நிபந்தனையற்ற ஆதரவு அளிப்போம், அமைச்சரவையில் பங்கு பெற மாட்டோம் என ஏற்கெனவே சொல்லிவிட்டோம்.
எங்கள் கட்சியின் சில தலைவர்கள் அமைச்சரவையில் இடம்பெற வேண்டும் என இப்போதும் பேசிக் கொண்டுள்ளார்கள். ஆனாலும், கட்சியின் தலைவராக நான் எடுத்த முடிவை அனைவரும் ஏற்பார்கள்.
சமூக நீதி மண், பெரியார் மண் என்று சொன்னாலும் தமிழகம் சாதிய இறுக்கத்திலிருந்து இன்னும் விடுபடாத மாநிலம். இங்கே அவ்வளவு இலகுவாக தலித் முதல்வராக முடியாது.
நான் 40 ஆண்டுகள் அரசியலில் உள்ளேன், இங்கே கள யதார்த்தம் என்னவென்று எனக்கு தெரியும். எனவே யாரோ சொன்னார்கள் என்பதற்காக கற்பனையாக நான் வாழ மாட்டேன்” என்று தெரிவித்திருக்கிறார்.
